Gene Espy

Gene Espy has been creating pin-up, fantasy and comic art for over 30 years producing paintings, drawings and printed pieces that have a sensual realistic quality inviting the viewer to examine every detail.

His first inspiration was found in the comics he read in his youth and he has been working to improve his craft ever since. This self-taught artist was hooked on the idea of seeing his childhood characters rendered in a realistic, classic style. Commissions for private collectors and commercial work have given Gene the opportunity to continuously improve and refine his drawing and painting skills.

Gene’s art has developed while he has absorbed inspiration from his surroundings. He grew up in the piedmont of North Carolina and spent many years in the mountains of that state before moving on to live the city life enjoyed in Baltimore and New York. He works today in Chapel Hill North Carolina and has been producing more work than ever before.
